Hi, I'm Yoli Rae, the self love shutterbug, transformational coach, human design guide and portrait
photographer.
Over the years, I have captured people's outer image through photography.
But what I discovered is that the most powerful shift doesn't happen in front of the camera.
It's what happens when a woman looks at her photo and truly sees herself.
That sparkle in her eyes, that's not lighting or angles.
That's self worth shining through.
And that's why I wanted to do this talk.
Because we live in a world obsessed with filters.
Filters on our photos, filters on our lives, filters on our identities.
And those filters make us forget the masterpiece we already are.
I know this because I've lived it.
There was a time in my life where everything looked good from the outside.
I was doing all the right things, checking all the boxes.
But inside I felt small.
I felt like I was editing my conversation, editing myself in conversations so I wouldn't rock the boat.
I was filtering my emotions so I wouldn't seem like I was too much.
I was working to prove my worthiness, even though it left me drained.
And maybe you've been there.
I mean, think about a time where you may have felt like you had to shrink, to edit yourself, to be
accepted.
What did that feel like?
For me, it felt like I was staring at a photo that had been retouched so much I couldn't recognize
myself anymore.
And that's what it's like living through filters.
It hides your soul until you forget who you really are.
The problem is, the more filters we add, the less recognizable we become, even to ourselves.
We disconnect from our bodies, from our worth, from our soul's truth.
And the reality is, your soul doesn't need retouching because you're already a masterpiece.
Now just let that sink in for a second.
You're already a masterpiece.
When I discovered human design, it was like someone had given me a manual.
No, a permission slip.
My own inner to own my energy and to step onto the main stage of my life so I could see myself as
I was created.
And as I began to embody that version of me, a whole new love started to emerge.
Perhaps you're new to human design and have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about.
And that's totally okay.
You've probably done some type of Myers Briggs or disc profile or maybe even an enneagram test
at one time point in time in your life.
Well, it's like that, only on steroids.
The big difference being that when you do those tests, you're answering questions from your
conscious mind.
And the way you answer those questions is filtered through patterns, through your experiences,
possibly even judgment because the conscious mind is heavily conditioned.
And what happens is the results, while they may seem on point because the descriptions sound so
familiar, they may not necessarily yield a totally accurate result because of that conditioning.
Well, human design is it's based solely on your details, so it takes the conscious mind completely
out of the equation.
Human design is your energetic portrait.
It shows you how your energy is designed to flow, how you're meant to make decisions, and what
alignment looks like for you.
It shows you who you were designed to be before the world told you who you should be.
And self love is the practice of honoring that design.
It's choosing to trust yourself to stand in your worth, to say yes when it's aligned and know when
it's not.
Together they can strip away the filters so that you can live unfiltered as the masterpiece that you
are born to be.
Okay, I'm going to share with you three principles for living more unfiltered.
Principle number one Clear the lens.
In photography, if the lens is smudged, the image is blurry.
Side note, one of the simplest things you can do to take a better cell phone picture or a selfie is
clear that lens.
As a photographer, it's important that we take care of our gear, keep our lenses free of dust, free of
prints.
You would be amazed with how much stuff gets stuck on your lens when your phone, the way your
phone is handled, it's tossed around in your purse when it's pressed up against your face and then
you want to take a picture.
So before you hand that photo, that phone over, swipe the lens clean.
Use the underside of your shirt.
Or if you have an eyeglass cloth that you carry, just do a quick one or two swipes over the over the
lens and you will find that your photos are much crisper.
Okay, back to regular programming.
In life, the lens is clouded by conditioning.
For me, one of those filters has been the pressure to prove myself in my chart.
I have what we call an undefined ego center which can show up as feeling like having to prove my
worth through titles, achievements or recognition.
Now I'm going to tell you I am a certified coach, a certified human design practitioner, a certified
NLP practitioner, a certified breath work practitioner.
All of these modalities I do use in my practice and I've got six others, six other certifications.
So when I started to think about pursuing my master's and PhD, I had to check Myself.
Am I doing this because I need to prove something?
Or am I doing this because it's aligned with my soul's calling?
And ultimately I decided to pursue and enroll in a master's PhD program.
But that pause, that pause was an act of self love.
It was self love in action.
It was me clearing the lens and choosing truth over proving.
So I wonder where in your life might you be chasing something just to prove yourself?
And what would shift if you chose only from alignment?
Have a think about that.
Okay, Principle number two.
Choose your exposure.
In photography, exposure decides what shows up clearly and surely.
You've notice what we call there's a.
The technical term for it is bokeh.
And that's where the subject is in full focus and the background is slightly blurred out or heavily
blurred out so that the image, the subject really pops.
In life, exposure is your focus.
It's your time, it's your energy, it's your attention.
When you are constantly focused on what drains you, your masterpiece gets washed out.
Now, human design can help you notice what truly lights you up.
Self love helps you have the courage to direct your exposure to that place.
Think about this.
Where have you been overexposing your energy to something that dims your light?
And what's one area if refocused, you would bring you would help you to bring your soul back into
clarity.
All right, now principle number three.
Stay in the frame.
Every photo has a subject that belongs in the center.
In your life, that subject is you.
But too often we crop ourselves out, putting everyone first and treating ourselves like an
afterthought.
Self love is about staying in the frame.
It's about keeping your story centered.
So ask yourself, where in your life have you been cropping yourself out of the photo?
And what would change or how would it feel to bring yourself back into the center?
And what could that look like?
All right, well now that's it for the three principles.
Now I want to give you something that you can actually put into practice to keep yourself aligned.
We'll call it the three minute.
The three minute alignment ritual.
It's a simple practice.
It'll take three minutes. Right.
So first things you're going to do is you're going to ask yourself, what are you feeling right now?
What am I feeling right now?
Name the emotion, identify it and give it a name.
And then ask, is this mine or am I carrying someone else's energy?
Too often we are absorbing and taking in the energy of other people, the people in our auric field,
and taking it as our own.
And, and that's sometimes confuses, it blurs the lines, right?
It confuses us because we're taking on this energy as if it's our own.
But if it's not yours, if it's someone else's energy that you're carrying, you can release that.
You can lovingly let it go.
So choose one small action that honors your truth.
Whether that's resting, creating, speaking up, or saying no.
These microchoices, these microchoices build the muscle for living unfiltered.
So I want you to give it a try this week and notice just how it shifts the way you feel in your skin.
One of the things that I always say, and I love this quote, I would love to take ownership of it, but I
didn't come up with it.
But I have adopted it as, as my, as an alternate tagline, as a, you know, one of the principles that
guides my, my practice. And that's this.
The beauty of an image is in the light, but the story is in the shadows.
And your story, your unfiltered soul, is the one the world needs most.
To help you begin, I have crafted a gift for you.
