hello and welcome to Calm and Connected.
I'm so excited to share with you my approach to creating and engaging in simple, soulful rituals for
everyday life.
I'll also walk you through one such ritual that is foundational in my own spiritual practice.
It can be completed in five minutes or less and leave you feeling calm, grounded and connected to
yourself and spirit.
Today and every day you're in the right place.
If any of these resonate with you, you feel like you've tried it all.
Journaling, meditation, yoga.
You keep falling off the spiritual bandwagon.
The thought of adding yet another thing to your never ending to do list increases your sense of
overwhelm rather than relieving it.
Or you've ever felt guilty for neglecting your spiritual practice, especially since you know how
meaningful it is for your spiritual and overall well being.
If you're nodding along, this presentation is specifically designed for you.
If we haven't met yet hi, I'm Sheryl Sternberg and I'm an intuitive life coach who specializes in
helping soul centered professional women trust their inner wisdom and take aligned action towards
their dreams.
My mission is to empower them to discover and do more of what truly lights them up, navigate
times of transition and play bigger in all aspects of their lives.
What makes my approach unique is that I bridge two worlds.
I combine my corporate background in analytics with extensive training and experience in personal
and spiritual development.
I understand both the logical and spiritual aspects of transformation because I've walked this path
myself from high achiever to spiritual seeker.
After experiencing my own rude spiritual awakening in 2013, I completely reshaped my life by
listening to my intuition, quitting my increasingly toxic job and moving to France to follow my soul's
calling.
Here's what I've discovered by working with dozens of clients.
They've checked all the boxes of conventional success but still feel something essential is missing.
They want to live with an intention and purpose to experience more fulfillment and joy.
They know from experience that engaging in spiritual practices support them towards this goal by
connecting with themselves and spiritual.
As a result, I found that the biggest challenge isn't finding the so called right spiritual practice.
It's the myth that a successful spiritual practice must be structured, obligatory and include lengthy
rituals.
As an example, early in my own spiritual journey, a mentor told me I needed a non negotiable 30
minute daily spiritual practice.
While this clearly worked for her, it left me feeling overwhelmed and guilty when I inevitably
missed a day when life was really laughing.
This eventually led to me having an all or nothing mindset And I go for long periods of not engaging
in soulful self care.
You've probably experienced this too. Am I right?
The problem isn't a lack of commitment or desire.
It's that you've been taught to practice spirituality like it's another demanding item a your never
ending to do list.
How different would it feel to know you could have a regular but flexible spiritual practice that's
simple, joyful and supportive?
This is where my sacred flexibility approach comes in.
It consists of three core pillars that make this approach so effective.
Moreover, they're simple, flexible and adaptable.
These aren't just theories, they're practical, practical principles that I use in my own life and that I
teach to all my clients.
Pillar one centers on creating an energy based spiritual practice, not one that is time based.
This means aligning your practice to your energy, not the calendar or clock.
For example, in the morning you could spend two minutes setting your intention for the day or
listening to positive affirmations rather than squeezing in.
A 20 minute meditation when you're rushed.
Midday might call for taking a 30 second breathing reset rather than skipping your practice entirely
because you don't have the time.
Evening could include a gentle reflection or gratitude practice versus an elaborate ritual like 30
minutes of journaling when you're exhausted.
This completely changed my relationship with my spiritual practice.
I shifted from rigid daily requirements to having a flexible, supportive connection with the divine.
Pillar two is about micro moments of sacred connection.
Spiritual practice exists in the spaces between, not just in dedicated meditation time.
Think an oracle card pull where coffee brews, a gratitude practice during your commute, or an
intuitive check in while washing dishes.
These moments are just as sacred as sitting on a meditation cushion and often more sustainable
for busy women.
The activity I'm about to guide you through is one of my favorite practices.
It takes less than five minutes, but can create a profound shift in your entire day.
The third and final pillar is honoring your natural rhythm.
Your spiritual practice should feel like coming home to yourself, not forcing yourself to follow
someone else's formula, not even mine.
By the way, everything I'm sharing here is merely a suggestion based on what has worked for me
and my clients.
Let these ideas serve as inspiration, not a prescription.
Give yourself permission to adapt, modify and make practices your own.
If more traditional methods like meditation don't work for you, that's totally fine.
Maybe you find more connection through music, nature walks, creative expression, or cuddling with
your fur babies. My favorite.
Ultimately, the spiritual practice that transforms your life is the one that resonates with your soul
and that you actually do consistently.
Now I'm going to guide you through one of my favorite spiritual activities, the Sacred Check in
Oracle Practice.
Personally, I prefer using a physical copy of an Oracle or Tarot card deck because it channels my
energy and focus and roots the guidance I receive intuitively on a more tangible physical level.
If this isn't available to you, you can use an Oracle Deck app on your phone or a website where you
can randomly draw a card such as heyhouse.com I also recommend being in a distraction free
space if possible.
Please note that during this exercise I'll demonstrate by using the actual phrasing I do in my daily
practice.
However, feel free to replace my phrasing with your own, such as source, God, Goddess, universe,
and the like.
You can also substitute the intention with any question of your choosing, so you receive the
guidance that's most relevant to your situation.
Sit in a comfortable and upright position, sitting cross legged on the floor, or if you're in a chair
with your feet on the floor, whatever is comfortable and available to you.
Close your eyes, place one hand on your heart and take three deep cleansing breaths.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
You're doing great.
Now hold your deck close to you as you connect with your source of divine guidance and set your
intention as follows.
Say to yourself, silently or aloud, dear Spirit, spirit guides of the highest vibration and angels of the
highest light, what do I most need to know today?
For my high is good, the highest good of others.
Next shuffle.
The cards was holding your intention in your mind's eye.
Your intuition will usually gently nudge you.
When it's time to stop shuffling, draw a single card and turn it over.
What is the first thing you notice?
This could be a feeling, an intuitive whisper, or a sudden aha.
Let your intuition and spirit share what they need to share.
Next, gaze at the images on the card.
What pops out at you?
A central figure?
A symbol?
A word?
What do they represent for you?
What feelings do they evoke?
Once you feel complete, then and only then, if at all, you can look at the deck's guidebook for
additional guidance.
This may trigger additional insights, or else the author's interpretation may greatly differ from the
intuitive guidance you received.
Know that your intuition is a greater source of wisdom than any advice you could get from
someone else.
Trust whatever emerges for you.
Finally, ask yourself, how can I honor and integrate this guidance in some small way?
Today, for me, I like to prop up the card on my altar or near the monitor on my desk, a place where
I'LL see it and be reminded of the guidance I receive throughout the day.
You might wish to write this guidance down or reflect on it in a brief journaling session either now
or later in the day.
Choose whatever will serve you best.
This short but powerful practice took just a few minutes, but it can create a positive shift
throughout your day, helping you navigate it with greater intention and ease.
That about concludes this session.
