Let me ask you a question.
How's your self talk?
You know, you can eat all the kale and broccoli in the world, but if your mental mindset is
negatively contributing to the way you think and feel about yourself, then all of that alkalinity goes
out the door.
Trust me, I know this to be true in my own personal life because many years ago, before going
plant based, I was trying to do all the right diets to lose weight.
But my internal dialogue and my mindset kept saying, you're fat, I'm fat, I'm fat.
I had this negative phrase on repeat that was negatively contributing to the way that I felt about
myself, which was honestly hindering and combating all the things that I was doing in my health.
So what I found to be true is that even if you're eating, eating the right foods, if you're on a diet, if
you're restricting your calories, whatever the case may be, you can do all the right things to a diet
that are being required of you.
But if you're not talking positively to yourself on the inside, then you're not going to see the
changes that you're expecting from the actions that you're taking.
Because we know that the mind is so much more powerful than the fuel we use as energy that we
put in our body.
I'm Brittany Carmichael, the founder of Shine School and the Elevated Life and the creator of the
Shine from the Inside Oracle.
And I know a thing or two about our mindset because I was suffering before I radically transformed
my life.
With the mindset shifts that I'm going to teach you in this class, I'll also be guiding you through a
meditation to help you remove all the limiting labels that you've placed on yourself, whether
they're about your personality or your beliefs or your health.
This is important for you to really take a look and to peel back the layers.
If you want to live a holistic life, then you're going to have to really take a look at your mind, body
and soul.
Just enough to eat the right foods or to exercise.
But it also requires mental conditioning to find the calm clarity that you're seeking, as well as
creating space for your soul to really show up in an authentic way.
Now, one of the lessons that I teach in Shine School is called Food as fuel.
And before going plant based, I tried every diet under the sun.
I tried Paleo and keto and south beach diet and Atkins and literally nutrisystem.
Like, I've tried so many different diets and my mindset was never in the right place.
I always felt like I was punishing myself and I always felt like it was a chore or a burden, like I
wasn't good enough.
And then when I found alkaline living plant based living whole foods, I realized that the way that I
was treating my body on the inside wasn't necessarily the way that I was feeling in my mindset.
And so I had to find that balance of realizing that even though I'm doing all the right things, even
though I'm eating, you know, the right kinds of food, nothing's changing in my body.
And I couldn't understand why.
I don't know if you felt that way like yo yoing diets, like you lose some weight and then you gain it
back.
Because if our mindset's not in the right place, and again, our mind is so powerful that it's going to
auto control anything that we're doing, even if we're taking healthy actions like eating loads of
broccoli.
I was eating kale chips after kale chips after kale chips and nothing was happening because I was
telling myself that I was fat on the inside.
So I asked you this in the beginning.
How's your inner self talk?
What is that word or phrase that you currently have on repeat that you might be embarrassed to
tell your friend about?
You know, if you're negatively talking about yourself, ask yourself, what would that feel like if I
were to say that to my best friend, and if the answer is awful, then why do we do it to ourself?
I want you to take a moment to think about those labels that you've given yourself.
Fat, ugly, unhealthy, tired, lazy.
Whatever those negative things are for you, we all have them.
And in this meditation that I'm going to teach you today, I'm going to help you remove all of those
limiting labels and replace them with powerful ones.
Because the way that we speak to ourselves reflects and determines how we show up in the world.
And if you're looking for a life of more vibrancy and vitality, energy, excitement, passion, joy and
love, then we have to cultivate that on the inside first by choosing those feelings and those
mindsets.
So one of the most powerful tools that I teach in shine school is about reframing, reframing all the
negative things that you say about yourself.
So I'm going to share my story.
So as you know, I had the label and the story. I'm fat.
I didn't realize until some hypnosis therapy with my husband that I really That I realized that this
label came from.
When I was 8 years old, my uncle called me Bryne instead of Brittany, and that placed this idea,
this label, this belief that I was fat even though I was a young child and I wasn't overweight.
This idea shaped the rest of my life until I realized that the way that we talk to ourselves actually
contributes to what we experience.
When I realized that, I was able to go back and one, forgive him, forgive myself, and start to rewrite
my future.
So the way that we rewrite our future is by rewriting or reprogramming the negative things that we
tell about ourselves.
So when you think about the phrase, for example, mine was, I'm fat.
Every time I heard that negative phrase, I would challenge myself to say cancel.
And to choose a new empowering thought.
So I would stop and say, I am beautiful.
I am loving, I am confident, I am kind, I am funny.
And in the beginning, it felt so awkward.
It was so uncomfortable.
Especially if you've been telling yourself these lies your entire life.
It's going to feel like what you say in a positive perspective doesn't really feel right, like you're
lying to yourself, which is really a sad truth.
And as I began to realize that I was negatively talking to myself all the time, I started to cultivate
the awareness.
You know, awareness is the first key to change.
We're living unconscious, and we can't make changes because we don't know something's wrong.
When I realized that I was saying this to myself when I was getting ready, when I was changing
clothes, if literally anytime, especially PMS week, it was the worst, we have to realize that these
negative thoughts and labels are actually unconsciously ruling our lives.
So we look around and go, I don't understand why it's like this or why this is happening to me.
Well, the truth is, you're experiencing what you believe on the inside.
So as I began to cultivate and catch myself reframing those negative thoughts, I begin to feel like,
okay, maybe this is getting a little bit better.
You know, in the beginning, saying I'm beautiful was so uncomfortable because it didn't feel true
for me.
But just like any habit, it only takes 21 days to start something new.
And if you can challenge yourself to say cancel and then reframe whatever negative thought you
have about yourself, it will start to shift your internal belief system, which ultimately contributes to
the way that you show up and act in the world.
So my challenge for you today is to think about, what is that negative label or that negative phrase
that is on repeat in your mind, I would, I want you for the next 24 hours to challenge yourself to
reframe those negative thoughts.
You know, thoughts are energy, food is energy, we are energy.
And if you're going to live a holistic wellness life, then you're going to have to really incorporate all
the different modalities and energy management.
And the way that we speak to ourselves is a huge contributor to our energy levels of vibrancy and
vitality.
If you're constantly talking s*** to yourself, saying, I'm not good enough, I'm fat, I'm too skinny, I'm
sick, I'm depressed, or whatever those things are, don't you think you're going to show up feeling
that exact way?
But we have the ability to make those changes on an internal level by shifting our mindset.
And when we shift our mindset, they say what you focus on expands.
So when you start focusing on wellness, vibrancy, vitality, health, love, joy, peace, you start to
attract those things into your life as well as you start to take those actions in alignment with the
desire that you want.
Because if your desire is continuing to say, I'm fat, I'm fat, even though you don't really want it,
what you keep putting out there, your mind and the universe knows no difference.
So we have to really clean up the story that we're telling ourselves if we really want to manage our
energy properly.
Of course, it starts in the body.
We have to be fueling it with the right energy, making sure we're getting in our daily dozen and
making sure that the nutrients are all in the right place.
We all know about living an alkaline life.
If we're anything less than alkaline, we're in an acidic state which causes disease and inflammation
when our body is constantly fighting.
It takes a lot of our energy, our mental energy and emotional energy to be able to deal with those
kind of ailments and illnesses.
So it's going to be really hard to transcend and up level into a deep meditative state where we can
have a constant connection with our soul, where we have the clarity on the steps that we need to
take.
The truth is, if you're suffering in any kind of way, or if you're ready for change or transformation,
the answer is within you.
But the lies and the stories and the labels kind of clogged the holes for that intuitive truth to be
able to make its way and permeate its way into your heart and into your mind.
So today I hope that this lesson helps you to realize the labels that you've been carrying around
and about yourself, that you lighten the load by pulling these labels off through the meditation that
I'm going to guide you through, and that you actually realize that you are meant to shine, that you
are worthy of receiving an abundant life full of vibrancy, health and wellness.
They say health is the first wealth.
And we know that if we're not healthy, we do not have the energy to be able to show up and
contribute to the world in a positive way.
If you've ever been sick or drained of energy, there's nothing left to give.
And I believe that if you're here watching this video, that you're here to contribute, that you're
someone who has a message, who has love and creativity and energy to offer the world.
If you're stuck in a place right now where you're like, I'm just tired.
I just don't feel like I have the energy.
I'm constantly beating myself up.
I'm not on my own team, and I really struggle with loving my body and my relationship with food,
then you're in the right place because you're surrounding yourself with all the wise teachers here
on the summit to help you rediscover your true wealth and your birthright.
Wellness is your birthright.
And if there's anything that's wrong, it's because something is out of alignment.
What I have come to find out is that a lot of our physical manifestations come from emotional
blockages.
So if we've been sexually abused, we end up manifesting negative experiences in our physical
body and our sexuality.
If we've been hurt a lot in relationships, we close off our heart chakra, and we don't allow that love
in or out, which can harden the heart and create disease.
So I want you to be thinking about not just the food that you put in your body, but the energy, the
people, and the things that you consume.
Your social media feed the people that you spend your time with, the thoughts that you're thinking.
All of these contribute to your level of weight wellness.
If we want to live a holistic life, we have to include the whole, not just the food.
We don't realize the power of our words.
And if you've ever used affirmations in the past, you know that the words and the feelings that you
cultivate behind them are contributing to attracting the things that you're wanting and asking for.
So if your words and the feeling that you have about yourself is, I'm not lovable, I'm not good
enough.
I'm not perfect, then you're going to keep attracting experiences that reflect that same feeling.
So what I want you to do is I want you to think about, how do you feel in your body every day?
You know, the mirror exercise is one of my favorite techniques that I share inside of shine school,
and that's looking in front of the mirror, getting naked, and taking a scan from top to bottom and
seeing.
Is there anything that makes me feel uncomfortable?
Is there anything that triggers me?
And are there parts of my body that I don't love?
Are there parts of my body that I'm cutting off and disconnecting from?
As I mentioned earlier, if you've been sexually abused, a lot of the times we disconnect from our
body so that we don't have to feel that pain.
And when we disconnect from our body, we disconnect from our source of energy.
You know, our emotions are energy in motion, emotion, and they're just here as guides, not to
punish us, but just to help us move through each moment.
So I want you to take a moment to think about, is there any part of your body right now that you're
neglecting that you've cut yourself off from that you don't want to feel it because it's painful or it
hurts or you just don't love that part about yourself.
Maybe it's your nose, your teeth, your b****, your b***, your chunky thighs.
Like, whatever it is that you feel like you don't love.
I want you to take a moment and I want you to send love to those places.
H***, I want you to just grab yourself and give yourself a hug and pour some love into that heart
chakra.
Let your body know that they're doing that.
It's doing an amazing job.
You don't realize the fact that you may be focusing on one small part of your health that's off, but
meanwhile, the rest of your body is fully functioning properly.
You have legs to walk on.
You have air into your lungs. You are breathing. You are here.
And if that is the case, then there is a fighting chance for you.
There is a chance for you to do something great if you are still breathing. If you are still here. You
matter.
And we need you.
But we need you to be your own best friend.
We can't do it for you.
And the only love that will ever fulfill your soul on a deep level is the love that you give to yourself.
So I'm gonna guide you through this meditation to help you fall back in love with Your body, to
reclaim your power and to remove the limiting labels that have been stopping you from realizing
your greatness.
So whenever you're ready, I want you to take a nice, long, deep breath in through your nose.
Let your lungs expand and fill up.
And then exhale.
Sigh it out.
We're gonna do that a few more times together before we close down our eyes.
Breathing in, I want you to breathe in a nice long, deep breath.
Let your belly expand fully. Let it go.
And exhale.
Let it all go. Let your muscles melt.
Breathing in through your nose, allow your lungs to expand, allow your shoulders to drop.
And as you exhale, close down your eyes and begin to slow down your breathing, relaxing your
mind and your body.
Your body and your mind begin to relax with every deep breath that you take.
As you inhale, you breathe in a beautiful white, golden, glowing light to help you feel safe,
protected, calm.
And with every exhale, you release stress, tension, worry, anxiety and fear.
Breathing in, allow this beautiful white, golden light to fill up your entire body from the top of your
head to the tips of your toes, allowing this beautiful golden light to extend past your aura,
encompassing your entire body.
Let this light fill up to the room that you're in, to the corners, and allow this beautiful, healing,
glowing light to act as a warm blanket of relaxation.
Now, I want you to use your creative imagination and I want you to imagine a mirror in front of
yourself.
I want you to stand in front of that mirror as the you, the version of yourself that you are today.
And I want you to take a look into the mirror and notice what you see.
Notice how you feel about yourself, and notice if there's anything that you're drawn to in a
negative way.
Take a moment to scan and notice if there's any disconnect or discomfort just taking a look at
yourself in the mirror.
If you notice any of those areas of discomfort, I want you to send a wave of love to those areas.
Take a moment to send the love that you need to those parts of your body that have been hurt, in
pain, rejected, misunderstood.
Imagine that beautiful light turning into a pink glowing color.
And send that pink color to all those places where you need love.
Take a moment to scan your body from top to toe and see if there's any places of pain that need
healing.
I want you to imagine a green light emanating from your heart chakra and allowing that beautiful
light energy to expand to every part of your body.
Allow your heart, your love, and the healing that you already have within you to do its natural job.
You are the channel of this beautiful energy.
But you have to turn it on and you have to be receptive.
Sometimes it's hard for us to receive compliments if we've been beating ourselves up for so long.
So I want you to look into the mirror, gaze into your eyes, and give yourself a compliment that you
know you need to hear right now.
You are beautiful.
You are loved.
You are worthy.
You deserve to be here.
Now I want you to let that scene fade.
The mirror disappears into the background.
And now you're standing there.
I want you to take a moment to think about those negative labels that you've given yourself.
I want you to look down at your body and notice those labels stuck right to your chest.
They could be thoughts or feelings like I'm not lovable.
I'm ugly.
I'm stupid. I'm fat.
I'm too skinny.
I'm not healthy.
I'm not smart enough. I'm not good enough.
I'm not creative enough.
Take a moment to notice those labels that you've given yourself and notice that they're stuck to
your body at this point.
Now, I'm going to count from one to three.
And once I get to three, I want you to begin ripping off all those labels that no longer positively
serve you or represent who you are.
One, two, three. Go.
Begin ripping off all the labels that no longer represent who you are or who you want to become.
Take away all those negative thoughts, beliefs and feelings, whether someone else has given them
to you or they're your own.
You can remove those labels now.
Good. Notice how good it feels.
You're becoming lighter with every pull and every rip that you make.
You're letting go of these labels.
I want you to rip them up and throw them away into little tiny bits and let them disappear into the
wind so that those labels no longer hold the power over who you authentically, truly are.
Once you're done removing all those labels, tearing them up, letting them go, I want you to start
thinking about some of those words that would represent the new empowered version of yourself. I
am strong.
I am confident. I am lovable.
I am in charge of my well being.
I am healthy. I am happy.
I am calm.
I want you to give yourself now a new empowering label or labels that represent this new version of
yourself.
Letting go of the old stories, the old excuses, no more playing victim.
You reclaim your power by rewriting these labels.
Go ahead and write those empowering words or phrases on the label now and stick them to your
chest and wear them proudly.
Notice that you're standing a little taller.
You're shining a little brighter.
And you feel the weight of the past has lifted.
I want you to notice how good it feels to remove all those labels that have been holding you back in
the past and to really see yourself in full glory.
You are amazing.
You are lovable.
You deserve to be here.
Now I want you to look back into that mirror one more time.
Use your creative imagination to pull that mirror back up and see yourself.
Now, do you notice a difference?
Do you see your eyes shining a little bit brighter and clearer?
Your smile is bigger.
Your shoulders are relaxed.
You're standing confident and proud.
You know that you are no longer those negative things or thoughts that people or yourself have
given you.
You are powerful.
You are lovable.
You are healthy and you are happy.
Notice the difference in seeing your reflection of the real you.
Now I want you to repeat to yourself, this is the real me.
This is the real me.
I want you to own it and claim it.
Know that you really are this magnificent, wonderful soul here to experience abundance, vitality
and joy.
This is the real me.
Now, whenever you know that you're ready to let go of those labels and step out into the world as
your most confident and authentic self.
Take a nice long, deep breath, fill up your lungs, exhale and notice how good you feel.
You can open your eyes.
I want you to take a moment to really feel the integration and the changes that happened.
You know, this was just a short, simple meditation, but I'm sure you felt the power.
Your mind is the most powerful tool that you have.
And when you can align it with your true desires and your authentic self, you start to activate the
abundance and the natural manifestation process of allowing yourself to really be seen, to really be
heard.
And you step into a quality of leadership.
When you become your authentic self, you naturally have the courage to be a leader.
And when you have the courage to be a leader, you can help to inspire and impact others in a
beautiful way.
And I know if you're here watching this, you're here for a reason.
You're here to reclaim your power and show up and be an example to others.

I've owned a hair salon for over 14 years.
And empowering women to feel beautiful and to see their true confidence from the inside is
ultimately my most exciting experience and my passion too.
But that might not be your passion.
Your passion might be cooking or writing or working with children or animals and whatever it is that
lights you up.
You know, that's another lesson in Shine school is do what lights you up.
When you start doing what lights you up, you start naturally attracting those experiences, the
opportunities, the people to help you develop and grow in that area.
And when you constantly choose areas that you're passionate about, you continue to expand in
your purpose.
Because the more you feel joy, the more you light up, the more you shine from the inside, the
more impact you have on other people's lives.
We came here to make a difference, to bring joy, to bring peace, and to bring love.
If we're not doing that for ourselves, who's going to do it?
I hope this meditation helped you to see your greatness, to help you pull back the layers that limit
you from fully expressing and receiving love, and the fears that stop you from showing up
courageously and confidently as your authentic self.
